A few months ago, I went from a 9-5’er to a Stay at Home Mom. Originally, I did not know that going from one to two kids would change my career path. In May 2018 I graduated from a great MBA program, and then in June gave birth to our second son.
I had plans to return full time back to work after 12 weeks, but life happened. I received an opportunity I couldn’t turn down. The opportunity to stay home and spend time with my kids. So, as I have been sitting here during nap times, or the random moments where “Mom” isn’t being screamed, I’ve been thinking. What can I do to contribute or help other mom’s with limited time?
I have been in situations where I only have a few hours a day to spend with my child. Out of those only an hour or so isn’t food related, bath time, or some sort of getting ready. I have now been exposed to a more rigid “work around nap time” schedule. Whichever situation you have found yourself in, I am sure that you are just like me when you think: we need to do something different!
The days go by so quickly, and I have found myself doing the some ‘ole routine whether I was working or not. That is mind numbing for me, and I assume that it is for my kids. Therefore, I am writing this blog as a way to make myself break from the norm.
Also, we like to travel once or twice a year, and like to take our kids. I realize that I am always looking for activities that both us and our kids will enjoy while we are there. Because let’s face it, if the kids are happy you are happy!
I want to use this experience to make the most of my days that I get to spend with my kids. Enjoying all the amenities that Wake Co. and surrounding counties have to offer.
A few years back my husband and I made a resolution to try a new eatery every week. It had to be somewhere neither of us had ever been. We made it pretty far in the year before we finally missed a week.
That is how I am going to structure this blog. Every week, I will try something new with my kids.
It can be:
- a new place to play,
- a new activity,
- a new place to eat,
- attend a festival, or
- do something for just for me.
Therefore, if you have any suggestions, please reach out to me! So, here’s to trying new things. I hope you are willing to tag along on this journey with me!
